Master Plan – St Anthony of Padua Catholic College
In August 2019, Sydney Catholic Schools lodged a State Significant Development Application (SSDA) with DPIE for the masterplan development of the site to increase the total number of students to 2,280 (K – 12). The SSDA was fast-tracked by the DPIE and approval was obtained in May 2020.
The masterplan sets out the planned layout of the school, church and childcare.
The external site features include:
- Piazza at centre of the site adjoining the future church
- Onsite parking for 326 spaces plus areas, 125 additional spaces used for pick up and drop off
- Bike parking for 180
- Sporting ovals
- Eight basketball sized courts
- Landscaped areas
- Market gardens
The buildings include:
- Café & hospitality adjacent the church and piazza
- Theatre – 250 seats
- Childcare – 125 places
- Gymnasium & hall – 3000 seat capacity adjacent to the piazza (Future Stage)
- Science, engineering, food tech, trade training, music, special learning area
- General learning areas to accommodate 2,280 students
- Learning commons
- Administration facilities for the school
Provision has been made for a church in the central position of the site with a capacity of 750 people as well as the ability to develop a trade training centre on site.
As part of the DPIE consent approval conditions, and in order to develop the site, a series of infrastructure projects are required to allow the site to grow. These include roadworks, electrical substations and communications pits, OSD tanks and stormwater infrastructure, and sewer and gas connections to the site. Most of these works have now been completed.
All School building works have been completed with the Hall and Church to be delivered in Future Stages. The Childcare Facility is currently in construction and due to be completed and opened in 2027.
