Providing a range of co-curricular opportunities is important to us because we value each child’s individual skills and interests, and we want to give every opportunity for students to grow and further their potential.
Our state of the art specialised learning areas include spaces for engineering, performing arts, food technology, visual arts and multi-recreational sporting facilities. The following are some activities students can get involved in.
Academic
Optional academic pursuits include a number of lunchtime and after-school clubs, ICAS Competitions, Tournament of the Minds and Network Enrichment opportunities. The College is very active in promoting Public Speaking activities as they develop confidence and skills that are useful post-schooling. Our main focus is the College Public Speaking Competition for Kinder to Year 10, while secondary students are invited to participate in the Catholic Schools Debating Association (CSDA) against other Sydney Catholic Schools.
Creative Arts
The Creative and Performing Arts are an important part of life at St Anthony of Padua Catholic College. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities offered at the College including dance, choir, Music Ensemble and the annual Creative Arts Showcase. They are also invited to take part in the Catholic Schools Performing Arts Program (CaSPA) and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Sporting
Students from the age of 8 years who excel in sport are eligible to participate in Sydney Catholic Schools Representative Sports opportunities in Swimming, Athletics and various other sports. Sydney Catholic School sport is broken up into seasons and gala days and students will have the opportunity to play in most sports. Catholic School Sport is a competitive interschool sporting competition that involves all Secondary Catholic schools across Sydney. Schools are divided into 4 conferences based on geographical location. St Anthony of Padua Catholic College is part of the South/West Conference 4.
